What the college says
This is a full time, fast paced study programme which covers a wide range of various makeup techniques and topics. The units are assessed internally by subject specialist teachers. Most units consist of a mix of theory exams, although there are some written assignments and tasks and practical assessments which are carried out in our brand new, high street, commercial makeup studio. Some of the topics you will cover over the year include; working in the hair and media makeup industry, health and safety, fashion and photographic makeup, airbrushing makeup, bald caps and prosthetics, media makeup, creative hair styling, styling womens hair, designing and applying postiche (hairpieces) and face and body art. You will also be required to purchase the salon uniform and a kit prior to commencing the course. Financial support is available to some students to purchase equipment. It is required that you carry out a minimum of 6 hours per week home study.
