Textiles
at Bosworth Community College, Leicester · college
What the college says
The course starts with a skill building project, where you will try different techniques and skills and build competency using textiles techniques, such as printing, embroidery and fabric manipulation. You will then go onto choose a personal theme and develop this through research, drawing, sampling and designing, before creating a final outcome (which can take the form of different types of textiles, work could include fashion/accessories/interiors/textile art). The course is suitable for any Art and Design background and you do not have to have studied textiles at GCSE to succeed on this course. From February of year 13 you will complete an externally set assignment (exam project). You will be required to complete a final piece during a 15 hour controlled assessment.
