Mencap is a leading learning disability charity. Our Supported Internship programmes connect young people, aged 16-24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to a wide range of work experience opportunities. In West London, we have developed a programme working especially closely with employers within the logistics sector, supporting learners into roles in warehouses and administrative roles. Logistics is a fast growing sector with lots of job vacanacies and the work is often well-suited to young people with SEND. Our programme also involves learning about the world of work that ensures learners are equipped to succeed during their work experience and are well placed to secure paid work at the end of the programme. We deliver the classroom learning element of this supported internship in Ealing but can take learners from other nearby London boroughs.
