This intensive 4-week programme has been designed to meet the needs of adult learners who are seeking employment in administrative support roles in an office environment. This course provides a basic understanding of routine operations found in many organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors. This is a full-time course from Monday to Friday. You will work on the study programme 4 days a week (Mon Thurs) and have a Budget Planning session on Friday in week 1, and Skills and Employability sessions on Friday in weeks 2, 3 and 4, leading to a guaranteed interview. The aim of this course is to help you gain individual units via a portfolio to achieve a nationally recognised Level 1 Award in Business and Administration, certified by City & Guilds. You will also develop an understanding of mindfulness and ways to manage wellbeing, explore the concept of mindset and understanding motivation, dealing with first days at work and coping with change, leading to Entry 3 Resilience and Grit qualification, certified by Ascentis. In addition, you will have the opportunity to update your CV and develop your interview skills, leading to guaranteed interview with employers at the end of your programme.

What you need to get on

You will need to have English at a minimum of Entry level 3, and a good background knowledge of computers. You wish to progress or develop your skill within an office environment. You will also need good IT skills. You need to know how to use Word, email and the internet. Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
