The study of BTEC Sport expands on the ideas and concepts already encountered during the Key Stage 4. BTEC Sport has been designed to provide specialist units in a range of sectors. The course is for those interested in learning the skills and knowledge required to work within the Sports and Recreation industries. What you will do: The course aims to encourage and develop your ability to: • Understand the effects of anatomy and physiology on sporting performance • Develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the factors which influence the quality of performance • Understand the opportunities for professional development in the sports industry • Understand the effects of psychology in sport • Use ICT to support all aspects of work. Future prospects: • Further study in Sports Science, Sport Medicine, Sport Management and Physiotherapy • PE Teaching • Health/lifestyle services • Professional sport and performance • Sport and Leisure Industry, coaching, working in health & fitness centres, leisure centres • Police, Fire Service, Armed Forces.
