The course looks to develop an understanding of a variety of key principles in sport, covering fitness, development and coaching as specific areas of focus. The course is a 2 year programme and you will study a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. The purpose of this course is to develop and progress students towards their intended career pathway of working within development and leadership within the sports industry. Bridging any knowledge gaps from finishing GCSEs to their course. The course looks to develop an understanding of a variety of key principles in sport, covering fitness, development, practical sports and coaching as specific areas of focus. During their academic journey students will be provided with opportunities and experiences which will aid their development and help them engage with those from the industry they are aiming to become part of. Example Year 1 Units: Anatomy and Physiology (Exam), Fitness Training (Exam), Professional Development, Sports Leadership, Practical Sports Performance, Sports Psychology and Organising and Sports Event. Example Year 2 Units: Coaching for Performance, Research Methods, Sports Development, Investigating Business (Exam), Skill Acquisition (Exam). Your timetable will also consist of tutorial sessions, learning support sessions and (if required) English and Maths.

Academic Requirements:- � Achieve 5 GCSE�s at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths. Additional Requirements:- � Completion of online �Easton Applicant Information Form� via the QR Code � 2 x references (one from School teacher and one from Sports Coach/PE teacher) � Attendance at a Curriculum Taster Day � Completion of Summer Task (which you will receive on your Taster Day).
