What the college says

The specification requires students to develop confidence (and competence) in the four language skills of Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. A certain familiarity with the culture and 'way of life' of the target-language country is assumed and will be developed via exposure to spoken and written language. The course will help you develop your general study skills, but most of all students will learn to communicate at a higher level in Spanish.

What you need to get on

At least 8 9-5 grades at GCSE, including English Language and Mathematics. Grade 6 in Spanish at GCSE and a grade 6 or better in the writing section of the exam is also a good indicator of success at this level

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
