What the college says
Sociology is a broad ranging subject that attempts to explain human behaviour, exploring the extent to which individuals� life chances are shaped by their wealth, gender and ethnicity. Along the way students will find out some extremely interesting facts about modern Britain and the wider world; they will learn that our society is full of hidden injustices and encounter some very radical views on topical social issues.
What you need to get on
Five GCSEs grade 9-3 and a satisfactory school reference. Including English Language at grade 3 and maths at grade 3 as a minimum. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.You will pick a selection of 5 GCSEs.
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
