Topics include: Social and cultural differences in society, Differences in families and households, Religion, Sociological theories, Criminology, . You learn through discussion, guided reading, written assignments, group tasks, videos, classroom presentations and online research. You will have the opportunity to participate in trips to key social institutions and discussions with guest speakers from various backgrounds and interests. There will be the opportunity to hear visiting speakers. All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
