What the college says
This course covers a range of predominantly practical construction and building service skills (carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, plastering, painting and decorating, etc.). It is ideal for those keen to work in a range of environments, or alternatively for those unsure of their future career pathway.
What you need to get on
A minimum of four GSCEs at grade 3, including English and maths or successful completion of the Level 1 related qualification and good progress with English and maths. Applicants without suitable practical experience may be advised to commence study at Level 1.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
