What the college says
You will be learning basic skills and knowledge at a higher level than the Level 1 qualification, and will be supervised as you undertake various practical and knowledge- based activities. You will be able to learn from a selection of subjects which typically include copper pipework, plastic pipework, ground maintenance, installation repair and maintenance of plumbing & heating systems.
What you need to get on
A minimum of four GSCEs at grade 3, including English and maths or successful completion of the Level 1 Plumbing qualification and good progress with English and maths. Applicants without suitable practical experience may be advised to commence study at Level 1.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
