This subject will allow you to pursue higher level education in sports studies or sports science. It will give you the opportunity to expand on your knowledge of sport allowing you to pursue coaching or teaching. Students will get the opportunity to continue to participate in physical activity and sport regardless of the subjects/course they select at sixth form. Students will have the opportunity to take part in competitive sport and become a member of the football and netball teams that will play against other local sixth forms schools or colleges. Alternatively, students will also have the opportunity of taking part in recreational physical activity and sport sessions. The sports industry is a booming business that generates billions of pounds each year. Many sport-related careers promise high salaries and long-term job security. Whether youre an athlete or just passionate about sports, a career involving sports could be a great choice for. We offer the A-Level route which allows you entrance into university or an apprenticeship.

What you need to get on

A minimum of a grade 6 in GCSE PE and a minimum grade 5 in English literature or language. Studying core maths alongside PE helps you develop skills that will support the quantitative aspects of the course, such as: interpreting data and graphs, using data to evaluate performance and analysing motion.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
