Physical Education
at Cockermouth School, Cockermouth · school or sixth form
What the college says
The course is wide-ranging and will cover many aspects of sport. Students will learn about the science of sport, psychology of sport and put sport in a socio-cultural perspective. Students need to be a performer in one sport, and also be able to analyse and evaluate performance in this sport. They should be participating in their sport on a regular basis outside of school as there will be limited chance to develop skills over the course. Visit the OCR website to find out which sports are available. Oral and written communication skills, team-work and understanding of sports performance, and physical activity from a wide perspective are all skills that will be developed during the course.
