A Level in Physical Education develops knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to physical education. Students gain understanding of the scientific and socio-cultural factors that underpin physical activity, and demonstrate their ability as either performer or coach.

What you need to get on

4 GCSE grades 9-6 and 7 GCSE grades 9-4 (Maths and English grade 5), Grade 5 in Science or Grade 6 in PE (Merit in BTEC Sport). Students should have a genuine interest in PE in both the practical and theoretical elements and participate in sport for a club outside of school.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
