A-Level Physical Education is for students that have a genuine interest in physical activity and take an interest in sporting issues that are shown in the media. Candidates should be active participants in sport. The A-Level PE course is multi-disciplinary; this means candidates will study a variety of different modules. These modules are examined at the end of the 2 year course. Candidates will undergo a practical assessment in one activity which can be as a performer or official. The interview assessment is an oral test of the candidate's ability to communicate verbally and link the theoretical aspects of the course to practical performance.

What you need to get on

A grade 6 in GCSE Physical Education and a grade 6 in any GCSE Science. A grade 4 in English Language or Literature. Students that did not do GCSE PE will be considered if they achieved a grade 6 in science. Regular (at least weekly) sports participation is essential.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
