This course is designed for those students who wish to extend and develop their studies in Art and Design to a greater depth than required at GCSE. Students wishing to pursue the course must show enthusiasm and dedication as well as a degree of creative and technical ability. Students will be given the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of materials, processes and technology within Art, Craft and Design to improve their imaginative and creative powers and extend their experimental, analytical and documentary skills. Students will have the option to learn and explore techniques in art textiles, ceramics, photography, sculpture and printmaking which comes under the Art, Craft & Design title. There are over 800 different Art based courses to choose from after A Levels. This qualification will help you explore your creative mind and develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that employers across many industries are looking for.

What you need to get on

5 grade 4’s minimum, including grade 5 in Art or completion of a portfolio task.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
