This course allows students to develop their skills in Lens-based Media using associated software. This builds on the skills students acquire during the GCSE Art and Design and/or Graphics courses. Students will find this a useful subject to accompany other A Level courses that require any image-based input or media work. The technical skills taught will give students an excellent understanding of how cameras work and turn enthusiasts into competent photographers. Progression to A2 Photography is possible for proven independent learners.

What you need to get on

Six GCSEs at Grade 5 or above. It is recommended that students have a GCSE English at Grade 5 or above.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
