This course is for Students who want to seek to develop insightful evaluations of ultimate questions about the purposes and commitments of human life. Ultimately, students who have an interest in issues arising from philosophy and religion and religion and ethics. Students will be studying philosophy of religion reflects on philosophical issues and questions. Enquiring into the nature and influence of religious experience, problems of evil and suffering and philosophical language Religion and ethics focuses on issues and debates in religion and ethics by a study of three ethical theories. An application of ethical theories to issues of importance including ethical language, deontology, virtue ethics and medical ethics. Students will reflect on the beginning and end of life issues. A Study of religion will investigate religious beliefs, values, teachings, sources of wisdom and authority. This will include analysing the practices that shape and express religious identity, social and historical developments along with religion and society.
