What the college says

This pathway is designed for young people with learning and communication difficulties who are reliant on support and unable to self-manage their anxieties or needs. They often have narrow interests and experiences. This pathway is perfect for those looking to improve their social and communication skills, increase their independence, and develop more interests.

What you need to get on

Students need to be aged 16 - 25 and have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP). Our Personal Development pathway is suitable for students who have complex communication and sensory needs. They may find challenges with self-regulating their behaviours. Students on this pathway should be working at around Milestone 4 and above academically, and require no more than 2:1 staffing in the classroom and community.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

A supported starting point if exams have not gone well yet.

Is it open to 16 to 18 year olds?
