Aimed at School Leavers. This exciting Performing Arts course will enable you to acquire a fundamental knowledge of both drama and dance to equip you for progression on to our Acting and Professional Dance courses. You will develop performance skills, explore different techniques of creating performance and learn about important practitioners in the fields of dance and drama. The course encourages students to explore their creative imagination by developing strong skills in acting, community theatre and various disciplines of dance and performance. The units throughout the one year course are dynamic and challenging enabling you to reach your full potential.You will also have the unique opportunity to audition for the Centre of Excellence Musical Productions.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 9 : 3 including a Grade 3 in English Language, a Grade 2 in Maths and ideally a performance based subject. You will need to successfully pass a dance or drama audition for this course which will be arranged after your admissions interview.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
