BTEC Dance aims to develop and extend knowledge, understanding and skills in participating, communicating and appreciating dance. Students will perform and interpret choreographic ideas, create imaginative dances and be able to comment perceptively on structural and expressive aspects of dance. Students of Dance will enhance their knowledge of professional repertoire, composition, performance and appreciation skills, whilst developing team work and leadership skills. The course contains: Performance of dance, Ballet and contemporary dance, Choreography of solo, duet, trio and group pieces, Appreciation of dance and its history, Workshop and professional repertoire

What you need to get on

Minimum five 9-4 grades at GCSE to include 4 grade in GCSE Dance or equivalent Dance qualification or demonstrable interest in and commitment to Dance.

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
