What the college says

This course builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have gained at GCSE. It constitutes an integrated study with a focus on language, culture and society. The focus is on how the German society has been shaped, socially and culturally and how it continues to change. You will learn to express yourself at an advanced level and discuss social and topical issues. You will also learn to analyse a film and a literary text in German. Finally, you will develop your translation skills, from German to English and English to German.

What you need to get on

To enter South Craven Sixth Form students need to have achieved Grade 9-4 at GCSE (A*-C), or Merits in other level 2 qualifications (e.g. BTEC, OCR Nationals), in at least 5 separate subjects including English Lit/English Language or Maths. This is considered to be the minimum entry requirement. Must include: Grade 6 in GCSE German
