What the college says

German is an exciting and diverse subject that offers students the opportunity to follow their interests and passions as well as learning a great deal about Germany and German speaking countries. The emphasis is on total immersion in the foreign language. At AS/A2 great importance is placed on the ability to communicate and by the end of the course it is expected that oral skills will be highly developed. Students will have access to a wide variety of authentic German media in order to enhance their language skills. Students will be exposed to authentic texts - newspaper and magazine articles, brochures, blogs, websites and up to date articles - originally designed for native speakers. All material will be firmly rooted in the culture of the target language country.
