What the college says
Construction offers an insight into the construction industry, ranging from the initial planning stage through the design and building process of housing, industrial and commercial buildings. Students will take part in work placements two days a week, and will have the chance to build new working contacts, relevant knowledge and life-long skills.
What you need to get on
A GCSE profile of subjects graded 3/4 that may not include Maths and/or English Language at grade 4. An interest in a career in the construction industry is essential
How you are assessed
One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
