What the college says

Areas of study include the key elements of business success; how businesses are organised, how they communicate, the characteristics of the environment in which they operate, and how this shapes them and their activities. In marketing, you will examine the marketing aims and objectives for existing products/services and use given market research data and other information to make recommendations about the type of marketing campaign that a business should undertake. The three mandatory units include aspects of both personal and business finance. Personal finance involves the understanding of why money is important, as well as issues such as spending habits, types of borrowing, methods of saving, and the issue of how attitudes can affect personal financial choices. In the second half of the unit we look at the purpose and importance of business accounts, planning tools, such as cash flow forecasts and break-even, as well as the importance of measuring financial performance.
