This A-Level course is made up of 3 sections – Philosophy, Ethics and the Development of Christian Thought. It is an interesting and relevant course which will nurture your curiosity about the world and why people think and behave in the way they do. You will study a range of philosophical and ethical ideas and apply these to modern issues such as business and sexual ethics. You will also study the development of Christianity and its role in society. A qualification in Philosophy and Ethics can lead to a wide variety of careers. It is a highly regarded academic subject by universities and employers alike; this is because philosophical skills such as discussion, debate, essay writing and critical thinking are all transferable to many future careers.

What you need to get on

The minimum entry requirements for students are the best 8 GCSE grades, totalling 38 or higher. For example, two Grade 6s, two Grade 5s, and four Grade 4s. In addition, students also need to have secured a Grade 4 in Mathematics; with a Grade 5 in GCSE English, GCSE History or GCSE RE.
