This course will give you the skills you need to work in a salon or become a self-employed nail technician. You can also progress to further courses in salon management. Course content: Enhancing and maintaining nails using UV gel, liquid, powder and wrap system. Finish overlays using electric files. Nail art. Create nail art design. On completion of the programme you can progress on to other programmes in College or work as a nail technician. The Government requires that all students studying programmes take separate Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed. If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't already have a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths they will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards higher grades in English and Maths or a higher level Maths qualification we can help you do that too. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding lessons to allow you to achieve, succeed and progress into new and exciting destinations. You will participate in enrichment industry week - an opportunity to 'try something new'. Professionals from Dermalogica, Wella and Steiner are invited in to college to demonstrate, train and inspire students.

What you need to get on

Four GCSEs at grade A* to C plus English grade 4 or above or Level 2 NVQ in Beauty Therapy or Level 2 NVQ or VRQ Nails.
