The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology is a substantial vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed nail technician. This qualification is based on the nail services National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK's leading professional bodies (The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT)) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a nail technician.This qualification will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare learners for employment as a junior nail technician. Learners will have their nail services skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment.This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician including: providing and maintaining nail enhancements, manicure treatments, health and safety and client care.Learners will also develop their understanding and skills by studying a specialist unit of pedicure. In addition we are offering an upgrade to this course to include another unit - Award in LED Gel Polish Techniques. This will be included within the delivery hours of the main qualification.This qualification structure provides learners with the flexibility to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required depending upon their designated career pathway as a nail technician.
