What the college says
The course is suitable for all types of musicians and music producers. Specific classes cater for individual needs whilst providing a foundation of skills and knowledge that prepare you for the next step in your career as a creative artist.
What you need to get on
4 GCSEs (9-3) including English, or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent, or satisfactory results (Merit/Distinction) in a relevant Level 1 qualification, and an interview with a portfolio of relevent evidence. Candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate some prior experience of either music software sequencing or sound recording. This could be a portfolio of tracks they have produced either on CD/DVD or online.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
