What the college says
If you can play an instrument to Grade 5 standard and are interested in analysing a broad range of music, composing and performing, this course will help strengthen those skills. You should have a broad understanding of the development of Western music and be able to play your instrument in a range of styles.
What you need to get on
At least 5 GCSEs graded 9-5 including English or Maths at grade 4 or above. Grade 5 in an instrument/voice. Students without Grade 5 Theory will need to undertake a short theory exam.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
