Music A Level is designed to allow you to pursue your own musical interests. Practical skills as a musician are central to this course, to actively engage in the process of studying music. You will develop your critical ear, performance skills, ability to compose music and manipulate musical ideas. You will build up your aural and analytical skills by studying contrasting genres, styles and traditions, developing understanding of musical contexts and coherent awareness of music chronology.

What you need to get on

GCSE Music Grade 6 or extensive portfolio evidence of current musical performance, interests and composition work. Combines well with: Irrespective of whether you intend to study Music at Undergraduate level, Music A Level is highly sought after by top universities, due to the critical thinking and practical skills that are developed throughout the course. As such, Music combines well with all subjects from other Performing Arts to Mathematics, Science, Humanities and beyond.
