The course content for A Level Music includes performing, composing and listening & appraising. Students should be able to perform at Grade 5 standard on their instrument before commencing their course and should have some keyboard or piano skills. Students choose either option A or option B. Option A: Performing (25% of A Level) Non-exam assessment - externally assessed via audio-visual recording Composing (35% of A Level) Non-exam assessment - externally assessed via audio recordings Listening and Appraising (40 % of AS Level) 2 hour written exam with aural extracts. Option B: Performing (35% of A Level) Non-exam assessment - externally assessed via audio-visual recording Composing (25% of A Level) Non-exam assessment - externally assessed via audio recordings Listening and Appraising (40 % of AS Level) 2 hour written exam with aural extracts
