What the college says
This course focuses on all aspects of music including performance, listening and appraising skills, analysis of major works and composition. You will develop your skills in all these areas, meeting new topics and revisiting familiar topics in greater detail.
What you need to get on
GCSE grade 6 or above in Music. OR a Level 2 qualification at Distinction, A grade or equivalent, in a Music related discipline and demonstrate competency on a musical instrument i.e. read notation and perform to grade 5 or above standard on a musical instrument. Where GCSE Music or a Level 2 qualification in a Music related discipline has not been studied, you must be able to prove your ability is equivalent to grade 5 theory.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
