Learn how media texts use media language, construct representations as well as the contexts of texts. They will cover contemporary identities in the media across music videos and video games; changing gender representations in advertising and film marketing; the representation and context of issues and events in the news. Study 3 areas of the media in depth; TV in the global Age, Magazines (Mainstream vs. alternative) and Media in the Online Age.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 in GCSE Media Studies or grade 6 English (if Media has not previously been studied). All students must have an APS of 4.5 or above.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
