What the college says
The course is about both studying existing media products with regards to the four key concepts; Representation, Language, Industry and Audience, as well as the context of these. Plus, students create a media product for coursework. By ‘media products’ we can mean anything from video games, posters, films, newspapers, magazines, social networks, music videos, radio, and marketing and advertising.
What you need to get on
The overall 6th Form entry requirements are: a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including a grade 9-4 in English. Subject specific entry: Grade 4 in English Language or English Literature and a 4 in GCSE Media if studied.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
