This qualification aims to give trainees the opportunity to explore the transformative nature of digital journalism through different forms that journalism can take. Along with the development of core skills in research and contextual awareness, learners will benefit from industry level insight to the following practices: Interactive journalism, Creative & Factual Feature Writing, Media Law and Ethics, Blog Creation, Vlog Creation, Podcasting, Radio Production and Public Relations. Digital Journalism brings skills and opportunities to those looking to be content providers in radio, vlogging, blogging and more traditional areas of journalism and creative writing. The course is delivered through hands-on experience with industry standard software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite including Audition and Premiere Pro, as well as use of our in-house radio station and TV studios. Trainees will also have access to our media stores which has a variety of camera and audio equipment which can be booked out for their projects. Our ethos is to align with the creative industries as much as possible meaning the course uses live projects and production-based exercises to get you involved in using digital platforms, presenting work to audiences and developing a large range of creative skills suitable for employment or higher education.
