Black mirror? Any screen after it's turned off shows your reflection. If you are interested in what the media tells us about the world, this is the course for you. Media Studies A-Level is a fascinating course which allows you to explore culturally significant theoretical perspectives in analytical writing and then demonstrate your understanding in a creative portfolio. You use industry specialist software to construct a range of print, AV and online forms. Media students learn about a wide range of texts, discuss cultural contexts and representations as well as gaining an insight into production, marketing and how to target specific audiences. This course provides a pathway to a related degree or career in the media, an excellent route for Journalism, PR, Marketing or Communications.

A GCSE grade 4 in English Language.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
