What the college says

The A Level Media Studies course is designed to widen the intellectual horizons of our students through the analysis of both global and historical media. This course will foster the development of critical and reflective thinking to encourage engagement in the critical debates surrounding contemporary media with a focus on practical and analytical skills that are up to date and transferable. You will use industry standard software to explore media and create media related end products.

What you need to get on

Standard entry requirements: Maths and English Language at a grade 4. Based on Attainment 8 scores we will offer the following pathways: Vocational Pathway (selecting only Vocational Courses): 40, Combination Pathway (selecting a mixture of A Level and Vocational): 45, A Level Pathway (selecting only A Levels): 50. Subject specific requirements: A grade 5 in English Lang or Lit. No previous Media Studies background however they will need at least a grade 4 if the student sat GCSE Media.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
