The course is a combination of theory, analysis and practical application, giving you the opportunity to study a wide range of rich and stimulating media products including television, advertising, print and online media. Your investigation of these texts provides opportunities for detailed analysis of how the media communicate meanings in a variety of forms. You will apply a variety of theoretical approaches, along with a knowledge and understanding of media language in your investigation of how texts position audiences to respond in particular ways.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 GCSEs with a grade 4 (grade C) or above in English

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
