What the college says
This course consolidates and builds upon the mathematical concepts learnt at GCSE. It supports students taking subjects with a statistical element such as science, psychology, economics and geography. In addition, it equips students with mathematics skills that they can use in everyday life, such as payslip calculations and interest rates. Mathematical studies also provides a means of continuing with your mathematical studies in order to prepare you for the needs of university courses requiring a high level of mathematics or statistics. The qualification carries UCAS points equivalent to 40% of an A level.
