What the college says

The IB language programme offers the opportunity for students to learn a language from scratch. This is useful for students who have not had the opportunity to learn a modern foreign language before; it is also a good opportunity to either complement another language you already speak, or to open up completely new horizons.

What you need to get on

Students can apply for this course if they have never been taught Italian.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

What this level means

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.

Is it open to 16 to 18 year olds?

Approved for 16 to 18 study on the government's Section 96 list.
