It pervades every aspect of our civilisation from ancient times to the modern day, from the earliest discoveries of alkalis to the modern developments in polymers and drugs. It is a very powerful subject to study at sixth form level as many skills are learned during the course, skills which can be transferred to many different disciplines beyond sixth form. These skills are: Problem Solving Planning Observation Recording and processing data Analysis Manual/dexterity skills

What you need to get on

For the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), a student should be a general all-round student,with an overallB-grade profile or higher at GCSE or level 2 equivalentand have a B grade or more in the subject s/he wishes to take at IB diploma higher level or as IB single-subject certificate.

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
