What the college says
You would be suitable for this course if you enjoy studying and reading novels, drama and non-fiction and experimenting with different types of your own writing. You should also be interested in exploring the way that people use language when they speak. You need to have a GCSE grade 4 in English Language and Literature; find reading and analysing texts interesting and like writing analytical essays, as well as producing your own original writing. This course combines well with any of the Arts and Humanities subjects.
What you need to get on
A minimum of 5 subjects at Grade 4 or above, including at least one of GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. A minimum of a grade 4 in GCSE English Language and English Literature
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
