What the college says
This course builds on the knowledge and skills gained at Level 1, covering all basic hairdressing services, including cutting, blow-drying, setting, colouring and perming. You will also study theory units, which include health and safety, client care and communication, retailing and reception duties.
What you need to get on
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (if this does not include English and maths these MUST be studied as part of the Level 2 programme) or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths; successful interview and initial assessment; successful completion of Level 1 programme (progressing learners).
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
