What the college says
This programme is designed to build on students knowledge and skills developed at introductory level. Students continue to study and develop a wide range of skills required for seeking employment as a body repair technician within the motor vehicle industry. The course covers advanced techniques gained at introductory level on repairing body panels, fitting new panels, welding and fabrication of vehicle bodies and combines both theory and practical work. This intermediate course runs for 35 weeks from September to June.

L1 Certificate or Diploma in Vehicle Body or Accident Repair + at least 3 GCSEs
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
