What the college says

This is a one-year course designed where you will gain knowledge of a range of Public Services. The subjects covered include the roles, responsibilities and skills within, and required for, the Public Services. Furthermore, you will also study health and fitness, expedition skills, and land navigation using maps and compasses.

What you need to get on

4 Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (if this does not include English and maths these MUST be studied as part of the Level 2 programme) or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths; successful interview and initial assessment; successful completion of Level 1 programme (progressing learners).

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
