What the college says

This course isn�t just for people who work directly with children and young people�it�s perfect for anyone who�s interested in understanding their mental health or who might find this knowledge helpful in their current job. This can open doors to further study and a wide range of careers, including health and social care, childcare, counselling, and education. This is online learning, with three compulsory live one-hour video sessions, one to onboard and two in-learning. Prior to enrolment, a member of our teaching staff will contact you to discuss the course and expectations in greater detail. If your application is successful then you will be sent login details to the portal, via email. Following each learning module you will complete an assessment and submit this for marking via the portal.

This course is funded for learners in the York and North Yorkshire area. If you live outside of this area, we recommend contacting your local adult education provider.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
