This diploma at Barnet and Southgate College is the industry?s most recognised route for qualification as an electrician and you can work in the domestic, commercial or industrial sectors.

What you need to get on

Students progressing from Level 1 Electrical Installation are required to have completed Level 1 Electrical Installation Certificate and hold GCSE English and maths at grade 4+. Functional skills English and Maths at level 2 can be used as an alternative if GCSEs are not held. Students entering directly from school or those without the level 1 certificate in electrical installation are required to have at least 4 GCSEs, 2 of which need to be in English and Maths all should be at least grade 4.

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
