The Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technologies is a qualification designed to develop practical skills and build related theory knowledge within engineering. The course is designed to be broad in content and increase awareness of what a potential engineer will face within the trade. Specialist Skills include: Engineering Maths & Science Environmental Awareness Engineering Techniques Electrical/Electronic principles, testing & systems Welding Turning/Milling Computer Aided Design The development of practical English and Maths skills will be an essential part of your programme. If you do not have GCSE English and Maths at grade C minimum, you will be required to retake these subjects as part of your study programme. IT will be embedded in the delivery of your specialist skills. The study programme will also include Personal and Professional skills that will develop your employability, helping towards finding you a career in the Engineering industry. You will also undertake work experience.
What you need to get on
You will need 3 GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or above to include English or Maths.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
