Being an electrical engineer is a skilled, responsible, well paid vocation for which there are many different avenues of employment.This course is designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to press ahead with your ambitions, as well as gain a highly recognised qualification.Importantly, you will learn how to fit and repair electrical circuits and wiring. You will also develop a full understanding of safety rules, electrical theory, regulation and security systems.

What you need to get on

Four GCSEs at grade 3 and above to include:* English Language grade 4* Maths grade 4* Science In addition, you should have a keen interest in a career in the electrical industry.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
